Emmer & Rye
The reason to come to Rainey hungry rather than just thirsty. Kevin Fink and pastry chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph built this heritage-grain kitchen around in-house fermentation and a dim-sum-style cart that brings the night’s dishes to your table. It holds a Michelin Green Star and a Bib Gourmand, the signature is the cacio e pepe, and the desserts are the quiet headline. Book ahead; it is the one true reservation on the street.

Banger’s Sausage House & Beer Garden
The district’s anchor and the easiest group call. More than 200 taps of beer, cider, and mead pour into a massive dog-friendly backyard where bands play, and the kitchen runs a long list of house-made sausages from duck to mushroom. The brunch with one-liter mimosas is the Sunday-funday move. Come for the patio, stay because nobody wants to leave it.

Half Step
The street’s temple to mixology, and the answer when you want a properly made drink instead of a plastic cup. The bartenders work from fresh juice and house ice, the back patio is one of the prettiest on Rainey, and Little Lucy’s mini-donuts sit right out front for after. This is the cocktail stop locals send people to.

Lustre Pearl
The bar that started it all. Lustre Pearl was the first bungalow on Rainey to become a bar, and it still does the backyard-party format that the whole district copied, with a big lawn, games, and a come-as-you-are crowd. It is not the fanciest stop, and that is the point. Go for the origin-story patio, not the cocktail list.

Geraldine’s
The elevated evening on Rainey, up inside Hotel Van Zandt. Geraldine’s pairs Southern-influenced Mexican plates and craft cocktails with live music most nights, on a terrace that looks out over the district. It is the spot for a date or a slightly dressed-up dinner before the street gets rowdy below. Reserve if you want the terrace.

Clive Bar
The grown-up, dimly-lit counterpoint to the backyard bars. Clive does a focused cocktail list, mezcal, and a hidden back patio that feels a world away from the crowds out front. It is one of the longest-running spots on the street and still the move for a real conversation. Come early before the line forms.

The Stay Put
Rainey’s first and only brewpub, run by a team out of Half Step and Nickel City. Beer comes off a ten-barrel house system, and the list runs to draft cocktails and wine alongside it, poured across an indoor room and a wrap-around patio. It is the calmer place to actually sit down and drink something made on-site on a busy night.

Bar Fino
The European-leaning escape tucked off the main bustle. Bar Fino runs an aperitivo-style program, spritzes and amari and snacks, in an intimate room that feels more Lisbon than Rainey. It opened in late 2025 and has already grown into the space next door, where Fleet Coffee and La Santa Barbacha now pour. It is where to start the night, or to duck out of the crowd entirely.

Lucille
A converted house, named for the flapper who supposedly once lived there, that leans hard into Texas beer and local-liquor cocktails. There is a dog-friendly patio and full-service bars inside and out, so it works whether you want a quiet pint or a full crew. A reliable middle-of-the-street stop between the rowdy and the refined.

Asador on Rainey
The taco window that keeps you upright through a night on Rainey. Asador’s Rainey outpost runs brisket, carnitas, and cauliflower fillings, plus breakfast versions like migas and pork belly and eggs, with outdoor seating courtesy of the Drafting Room. Order at the window, eat on the patio, and thank yourself tomorrow.

The local thin-crust standby’s Rainey kitchen and bar, and the right call when the group needs actual food. Grab a specialty pie or a meatball sub between bars. It is dependable rather than destination, which is exactly what a long night on Rainey calls for.

Amaya
The golden-hour move, twelve floors up the Paseo tower at 80 Rainey. Amaya opened in December 2025 and does flavorful Mediterranean plates and spritzes with a view over the district and the lake, which makes it the spot for a sunset drink and mezze before you descend into the street. Go for the hour before dark.

Electric Shuffle
The activity bar when standing around with a drink is not enough. Electric Shuffle puts a modern, sensor-tracked spin on shuffleboard alongside a full cocktail menu, which makes it a good landing spot for a group or a not-quite-a-date. Book a board on weekends; walk-ins wait.
