What do you make or do here that a neighbor walking past would never guess?

“From the outside, we might look like a Pilates studio, but there’s a lot more happening inside. We’ve created Haus of B as a space where movement, strength, and recovery all live together. Along with Reformer and mat Pilates, we have a heated infrared mat room, strength training, a sauna, and cold plunge. We also have a big focus on education through our Pilates Teacher Training program and are building a community of instructors and clients who really care about how they move.”

What brought you to open where you did, and what is different about that spot now?

“I’ve lived in Austin for over 11 years and had taught Pilates and worked in studios, gyms, and physical therapy spaces all around the city. I had been looking for the right space for years before Haus of B. came together. What I loved about this location was that it felt like a neighborhood space where we could create something that was really our own. When we opened, the goal was to make it feel less like walking into a traditional gym and more like walking into a place you actually wanted to spend time. Two years later, it has become a little community of its own, people come in for class, stay for coffee, use the recovery space, and know the instructors and each other.”

What is one other Austin business you send people to when they need something you don’t do?

“We’re big believers in supporting other small Austin businesses, but one place we’re always happy to send people is Blenders & Bowls. It’s an easy post-Pilates stop and feels very aligned with the kind of healthy, local community we love being part of.”
