Austin farmers markets for your weekly shop.

Shop Saturday at SFC Downtown or Barton Creek, Sunday at Mueller, or Wednesday to Saturday mornings at Boggy Creek Farm’s farmstand.

For a Saturday shop inside Austin’s city limits, SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown at Republic Square and Barton Creek Farmers Market, at the back of the Barton Creek Mall, both run 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. On Sunday, the Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. On a weekday, Boggy Creek Farm’s farmstand in East Austin opens Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. This is a checked selection of three markets and one farmstand, not every market in the Austin area, and it is not a live opening status. Every day, time, and address here comes from the market’s or farm’s own page, checked Oct. 30, 2026. Posted hours do not promise a particular stall or item, so confirm that day’s vendors, hours, and any notice before you go.

Which market fits your day, checked Oct. 30, 2026

From the same operator pages as the picks below. Times are Austin time.

Here, Saturday has two markets, Sunday has one, and the weekday option is a farmstand.

Three Austin farmers markets and one farmstand, compared by day, place, format, arrival, and what to check first, from the operators’ own pages, checked Oct. 30, 2026. Times are Austin time.

Parking downtown, in full. SFC’s free parking is in State of Texas Garage N, 300 San Antonio St. Scan the QR code inside the garage, enter your license plate but do not pay, then get your free parking code at the yellow SFC Info Booth at the market. SFC lists the parking as free from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., says it cannot reimburse payments, and asks you to visit the booth before you complete the transaction. It is one garage and one window, not free parking anywhere downtown.

For the weekend

  1. Saturday markets

  2. Republic Square · Saturdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. · about 40 vendors
    01

    SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown

The facts: Sustainable Food Center runs this market in Republic Square, 422 Guadalupe St., every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., year-round and rain or shine, except during severe weather. SFC lists 40 weekly vendors and calls it a producer-only market, with farmers, ranchers, food producers, and artisans, and it says it visits each farm and ranch that sells there. Its free parking is in one garage and on conditions, with the steps in its downtown parking note. SFC says its markets accept Lone Star SNAP and WIC benefits.

My read: For a downtown Saturday shop that fits inside the market’s four hours, since the free garage parking runs on the same 9-to-1 window. For the free side of a Saturday downtown, see the free things to do in Austin guide.

  3. Barton Creek Mall · Saturdays, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. · farmers, prepared food, artisans
    02

    Barton Creek Farmers Market

The facts: Barton Creek Farmers Market sets up every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2901 S. Capital of Texas Hwy., at the back of the Barton Creek Mall, rain or shine unless the market falls on Christmas Day. It calls itself Austin’s original farmers market and says it began in 1987 on a Whole Foods parking lot. Its site sorts vendors into farmers, prepared foods and pet items, artisans, and other local businesses, and it says more than 90% of its vendors sell what they grow or produce. Its pages list meats, eggs, milk, cheeses, and seasonal produce among the farm goods, plus a cafe for breakfast or lunch. It posts no exact vendor count, parking details, or payment rules, so check the news on its home page, or call (512) 280-1976, before you go.

My read: The Saturday pick for a shop that mixes groceries with a prepared breakfast or lunch, on the southwest side of the city instead of downtown. By its own count most vendors, not all, sell what they grow or make, so ask at a stall if that matters to you. If the weather pushes the rest of the day inside, see the indoor things to do in Austin guide.

  4. Sunday market

  5. Mueller · Sundays, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. · 120+ vendors, by its count
    03

    Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller

The facts: The Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller runs every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine, all year, at 2006 Philomena St. It moved to the Branch Park Pavilion in June 2021, and its own parking map labels the lakeside spot as its previous location, so go by the address rather than an older map. It says it has more than 120 vendors, about 40% of them agricultural producers from within 150 miles, and calls itself a manager-inspected, producer-only market. Its vendor list runs from fruit and vegetable farmers, ranchers, dairy, and seafood to baked goods, pasta, prepared foods, and flowers, and a separate page lists the vendors attending the coming Sunday. It takes SNAP year-round and WIC from April to October.

My read: The Sunday answer, with more than 120 vendors by its own count, so it suits a full weekly shop. Check the week’s attending list for the farms you rely on before you go. New to the city and building a weekly routine? Start with the first-month guide for newcomers.

  7. A weekday farmstand, not a market

  8. East Austin · Wednesday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m. · one farm’s stand
    04

Boggy Creek Farm, a farmstand alternative

The facts: This is a farmstand, not a farmers market: one farm selling on its own grounds instead of many vendors. Boggy Creek Farm, a five-acre urban farm at 3414 Lyons Road that it describes as 2 miles east of downtown, opens its stand Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and says it is open year-round. It sells vegetables, fruit, eggs, and flowers from its own fields, and when a crop will not grow there, Texas-grown produce from partner farms; its fridge, freezer, and counter carry local meats, dairy, breads, coffee, oils, and preserves. Its market page keeps a current list of what it is harvesting and says availability can change by the hour, so call ahead if you want something specific. Older visitor listings show a shorter August schedule, so check its site before a late-summer trip.

My read: The weekday option, and a produce-and-pantry stop rather than a whole week’s groceries: what it has depends on the season and the day.

Three ways to choose

If Sunday is your shopping day

Start with Mueller’s 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. window at 2006 Philomena St. Before you leave, open its “vendors attending this week” page and look for the farms you buy from, since its full vendor list is a roster, not this week’s lineup. Then check its parking map for the streets marked no customer parking. Mueller is not the only Sunday market inside the city; the list of what we considered, at the end, names another.

If you shop downtown on Saturday

SFC Downtown’s hours and its free parking share one window, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., on the Garage N conditions spelled out under the table. If you would rather skip the garage steps, Barton Creek keeps the same Saturday hours on the southwest side, though its site does not describe its parking.

If you can only shop on a weekday

Go to Boggy Creek Farm’s farmstand, Wednesday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., after checking its availability list.

Before you leave the house

  • The day’s notice, on the operator’s page or social accounts, the morning you go.
  • This week’s vendors or stock. Mueller posts the vendors attending each Sunday, and Boggy Creek posts what it is harvesting. SFC and Barton Creek post market news on their own pages and accounts.
  • The address. Use 2006 Philomena St. for Mueller, not the lake, and the back of the Barton Creek Mall for Barton Creek.
  • Parking and paying. Downtown, follow SFC’s Garage N steps in order, and at Mueller, use its parking map. None of the four pages says whether vendors take cards, so bring a second way to pay.

Holidays, weather, and what is in stock

Posted hours say when a market is open, not which stalls will be there or what they will bring, which is why the checks above matter. Mueller and Barton Creek say they open rain or shine; Barton Creek’s one stated exception is a Saturday that falls on Christmas Day, and SFC’s is severe weather. None of the four pages read for this guide lists a Thanksgiving or New Year’s schedule, so check before a holiday-week trip, especially at Boggy Creek, whose Wednesday-to-Saturday hours can take in Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day.

How this guide was checked

Every address was checked against the City of Austin’s jurisdiction map, and all four picks are inside the city limits; markets outside the city, or without a current schedule of their own, are in the list at the end. No vendor list, price, or stock is copied here. No market or farm paid or was contacted for this guide, and the picks are not ranked.

What we considered and didn’t include

The things we passed on are part of the value. Documented for editorial discipline.

  • SFC Farmers’ Market at Sunset ValleySFC’s second Saturday market, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Toney Burger Center, 3200 Jones Road, with free parking in the center’s lot. SFC lists it with an Austin mailing address, but the City of Austin’s jurisdiction map puts that address outside Austin’s city limits, in Sunset Valley, a separate city.
  • Texas Farmers’ Market at BellMueller’s Saturday sister market, from the same operator, at 200 South Bell Boulevard in Cedar Park, a separate city, according to its own page.
  • Lone Star Farmers MarketIts home page lists a Sunday market, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Springdale General, 1023 Springdale Road, which is inside the city limits, but its About page still says it serves North Austin and Steiner Ranch, and it posts no vendor list, so we could not check what a Sunday shop there holds. Its Thursday evening market, at 2900 N. Quinlan Park Road in Steiner Ranch, is outside the city limits, in Austin’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.
  • Green Gate Farms farmstandA Saturday farmstand, 9 a.m. to noon in the Bergstrom barn at 8254 Canoga Ave., closed from August to mid-September, according to its own page. It is a Saturday stop rather than a weekday one, and the City of Austin’s jurisdiction map puts the address outside the city limits, in Austin’s extraterritorial jurisdiction.
  • Domain Farmers MarketOlder listings put a weekend market on the lawn at The Domain, with days and hours that disagree, and its old web address now carries an unrelated site. We found no current schedule it publishes itself as of Oct. 30, 2026.
  • HOPE Farmers MarketOlder lists include a Sunday market by this name in East Austin, but its web address now carries gardening articles and no market schedule as of Oct. 30, 2026.

Common questions

What days are the farmers markets in Austin?
Of the markets in this guide, SFC Farmers’ Market Downtown and Barton Creek Farmers Market run Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller runs Sundays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Boggy Creek Farm’s farmstand, a single farm’s stand rather than a market, opens Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Is there a farmers market in Austin on Sunday?
Yes. The Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller runs every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 2006 Philomena St. It is not the only Sunday market in the city: Lone Star Farmers Market also lists one, left out of this guide because its own pages disagree on where it runs and post no vendor list.
Is there a farmers market in Austin during the week?
The weekday option in this guide is a farmstand, not a market: Boggy Creek Farm, at 3414 Lyons Road, sells from its stand Wednesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. None of the three markets in this guide runs on a weekday.
What is the biggest farmers market in Austin?
This guide does not rank them by size, since they post different kinds of numbers: the Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller says it has more than 120 vendors, SFC lists 40 weekly vendors at its downtown market, and Barton Creek says it has dozens of vendors.
Which Austin farmers markets take SNAP?
SFC says both of its markets, including SFC Downtown, accept Lone Star SNAP and WIC benefits and offer Double Up Food Bucks Texas. The Texas Farmers’ Market at Mueller takes SNAP year-round and WIC from April to October. The Barton Creek and Boggy Creek pages read for this guide do not mention SNAP.
Where do you park for the downtown Austin farmers market?
SFC’s free parking is in State of Texas Garage N, 300 San Antonio St., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a code from the yellow SFC Info Booth at the market. Register your plate in the garage but do not pay, since SFC cannot reimburse a payment.
Where do you park for the Mueller farmers market?
The parking map on the market’s Mueller page marks three nearby garages, Texas Mutual, Simond, and McBee, and keys some streets as free street parking and others as no customer parking, including stretches beside the market and on McBee St. Check the map for the block you plan to use; it does not say what the garages charge.
